Raspberry Pie

from FallPast EP by Rab Townsend

/

about

Written for no particular reason, because I like raspberry pie, and hate strawberry rhubarb.

lyrics

When I walked back to the kitchen
I looked to find the oven on.
A pie was cooking in the oven,
but something seemed a little wrong

The filling smelled a little funny
I asked my mom what kind it was.
She said rhubarb with strawberry.
I couldn't hide my sense of loss.

Oh, I think that I would die
without raspberry pie.
Sometimes, I just have to cry
'Cos It's the wrong flavour of pie.

I walked myself out to the store
to get my flavour of choice
They said they had no more...
raspberries and a crust so moist...

I wandered home alone, at sunset
I felt I should have tarried.
The sky was brightly coloured red.
Just like a ripe raspberry...

Oh, I think that I could die
without raspberry pie.
Sometimes, I just have to cry
She made the wrong flavour of pie.

Rab Townsend Toronto

Took piano lessons for some many years.

There are sounds in our feelings - or mine at least.
Consider me the funnel through which those feelings ooze into some kind of pool in your ear holes.

It's not completely my fault that feelings sound so melancholy. I promise.
